What is Psychotherapy?

Joy of life is always accompanied by pain, and there are times that you feel beaten and defeated. Psychological symptoms can surface and compromise your happiness and functioning during these struggles. Therapy can help you to stay on the right track or find the right directions to minimize unnecessary sufferings.

How Does it work?

1. Join and Connect

3. Investigate and Heal

1. Join and Connect

We begin with the reasons that brought you here—your motivation, emotional pain, and any unresolved concerns. This is good time to observe how we are connecting, feeling, and working together to build our unique therapeutic relationship.

Therapy begins with two people showing up—one with questions, the other with presence—and together, something new begins to grow.

2. Explore

3. Investigate and Heal

1. Join and Connect

There are layers in human mind. Some has more, others have less.

Some levels are accessible, but others are restricted, guarded, or hidden.

We explore the general landscape of your mind from the surface to core. This will discover repressed desire, emotional and thinking patterns, relational dynamics, strengths, and values.

3. Investigate and Heal

What is therapy? 3. Healing

When irrational patterns in thinking, behaviors, relationships, and problems are identified, we investigate closely to clarify the root of the issues that has been unrecognized.  This brings clarity, self-compassion, expansion of perspective, and changes in attitude/behaviors.

While discovering, the healing occurs. We will sit in this gentle wave of relief and satisfaction to celebrate our journey towards happiness.

4. Change and Challenge

6. Complete and Continue

3. Investigate and Heal

Life goes on while in therapy.  New problems in daily life entered therapy room regularly.  This provides an opportunity to connect dots between old and new issues, bridge internal and external dynamics, and integrate sense of self. You may set new goals to encounter new challenges. This is good time to apply new mindsets, practice skills, make mistakes, revise, and reapproach.

5. Improve and Review

What is therapy? 5. Improving

Therapy is rarely linear. It unfolds in cycles—periods of insight and uncertainty, progress and pause. These fluctuations aren’t signs of regression; they are part of a deeper rhythm of transformation.

After some fluctuations, we will notice gradual improvement in satisfaction, resilience, confidence, motivation, and sense of self.

What is therapy? 6. Continuing

We will complete our first phase of journey together, when our weekly collaboration is no longer necessary.

We will discuss how to continue your journey independently. I will be within a reachable distance in case you need support.

This is not always 'the end' but sometimes entering the next phase.
